BUrger they will cross at times. Usually when we get up/down warm/cold spells in the spring that does not allow redear to spawn the month prior to bluegill spawn. Then they nest near each other at the sametime and it happens. Pretty cool looking fish. You would think they might be large but usually the hybrid in my experience is small.
