I honestly don't know how long it will take them to make an impact on your snail population or how many would be advisable for you to stock in your particular circumstances, but someone here can no doubt make a good suggestion. Since you have established predator fish, you may want to go with slightly larger RES so they don't become food as soon as they hit the water!
