:)Waterdawg I am interested in replacing the old overflow with the siphon system and have been trying to find out the best way to fill in the old barrel.I recently found this web site that not only explains how to do it but also talks about the siphon system. http://efotg.nrcs.usda.gov/references/public/AL/al378c_EmbankmentPondRenovation.pdf The article mentions that in cold climates it is possible for the air intake vent to freeze thereby blocking off the air and causing the siphon system to drain the pond.I live in Virginia where it can get really cold and freezing and that may be a problem with the siphon system in my location. has anyone installed the siphon in a cold climate?
