IT's after midnight, April 15th now so the season on GSF is now oficially open!
At least temporarily, I am managing several ponds that are on some property a few miles away. I've been doing sampling for the last couple of weeks.
Today, I was totally aghast!
The nicest of the four ponds has these
green things in them:
This one was about 9-inches. When I lipped the critter, I was surprised at the teeth these things have!
Worse than that, the green thing's seem to have brought their nieces and nephews with them:
Lynda took one look at the batch I brought home for dinner and said "
We're not going to eat those things, are we? They're all green!"
Ohhh! I must have been a bad squirrel in a former life. I don't want to wear a
GSF Forever shirt or logo!
Hopefully, I'm wrong in my fish ID, and someone will come along and tell me that these are the highly desired yellow-fin sunfish, or something like that!
Lastly, this pond does have some really fat LMB and some pretty nice things that appear to be pure strain bluegill.
