Thanks to the beavers, we now have at least 3 ponds! It's kinda hard to tell from these cellphone camera shots but there is another pool just at the point where the creek comes in and then, further up the creek, you can see that the beavers have made that dam much taller and there is a quite sizable pool above it.

The water is now running into the pond from all through the woods - making it a true wetland and, I think, it's cleaning the water as it spreads out and runs through all the vegetation. The vegetation that has been there should eventually be replaced (by nature) with other kinds of plants that thrive in our new swampland.

Overall, I think this is all quite fine!












BTW: the water looks very muddy in these photos but it was actually so clear that you can see the bottom - we do have some algae beginning to bloom in other parts of the pond though...it's that time of year. *sigh*
