Dave, this is really going to make you chuckle. I have a friend who raises them and sent 60 small ones to me thru the mail about a month ago. They are eating like MONSTERS and will go into my pond April 15th, they should start breeding around then. I only have 20 adult bass in my 2.5 acre (still filling) pond, so they should survive and breed well. From what I've read, Adults reproduce every six weeks, babies reproduce in 8-12 weeks, growout is 5.5 months...barring a bad start, I should have hundreds of thousands before weter temps dip back below 55 degrees. My first Bass spawn will have babies feasting on a forage base that was set in motion Sept. 2003 when I had 1/2 surface acre of water. In 30 days I will also be adding 200 cats and 200 of the dreaded and feared black crappie.
