There was a company doing aquaculture in the US.
Usually they are a brackish water fish, but can be raised for fresh. I have been told that they will not breed in my pond. They don't fertile until about 8 years old and change sex at the time.
I just took the last one in my pond last month, 30" at 4 years old. They act a lot like LMB.
They are farmed here and demand a premium price, roughly twice that of tilapia.
Based on the hunting style and difficulty with breeding I would think that the peacock would be a much larger threat.
