that is great. We have eagles wintering here at the convergence of the mississippi, illinois & missouri. most have moved on, but there are a few giant nests right on the great river road (rts 100, 143 &3) that still have pairs living in them. I thought it was too warm here in the summer to house the eagles, but this is the first year i've lived this close to the river, and the locals tell me that once and a while we're lucky enough to have them stay year round to raise chicks.

maybe they'll move on soon, i'd be sorry to see them go, but it is the way of the world, i guess. it is supposed to get up to 80 here this week...which means the turkey vultures will be back soon too.
