Scuff it up with scotch brite, wash it off with Ivory dish soap, rinse it off with clean water. Shoot 2 or 3 coats of a properly mixed solvent based epoxy, let cure properly. Good to go! Don't forget the mask with inorganic filters, those epoxies are nasty stuff. IIRC they're charcoal filters?
