Pond Boss Forums AERATION Systems questions Need help on sizing

Great site here. I got to do some reading here and slowly learning about what I need. I stocked my pond about 2.5 years ago with channel cats and blue gills. My pond is about 1/5 acre maybe average about 6 feet deep. Last year I had a major fish kill when the hot weather hit. I was also very surprized that the catfish were breeding after 1 full year. I finally got my home built which means I have power at the pond.
I want to aerate my pond to keep from future fish kills. I need to get the grand kids to fish it hard for me. Now I am thinking of getting a 1/4 Horsepower Air Blower, Gast. 15 psi max pressure. 4-1/2 cfm open flow. 115/230 volt. Gast part # 0523101QSG588DX and match a bottom diffuser. Am I on the right track with the Gast? If so what brand/model bottom difuser should be used? I need to get this going soon before I end up having all my large catfish dying on me again. hi pg55, nice to have you on the forum. Will you be installing the aerator at the pond or back at a barn or? If not at the pond how far is the pond from the electrical source? Some aerators are different than others. I have the aquatic eco sweetwater set up with the white sand/stone air diffusers. I like these diffusers better than the rubber ones, cleaning is a breeze and they work for many years where the rubber ones get hard over time and the holes dont stay uniform size. This leads to larger bubbles and less oxygen. I'm just a small fry and i'm sure a lunker will be by shortly to offer more/better information.

Thanks for your reply. I plan on having power within 10feet from the pond.So the pump will be sitting close to the pond.
