tried that....he just drops it down 6-10 feet next to one of the submerged piles of lumber that float down the river and stick in front of the locks & dam, jiggles it a little, then doesn't even reel in, just lifts the line up and grabs the fish...throws it in a cooler to replace the Stag beer he just pulled out.. rinse & repeat.
I refuse to drink Stag, more of a budweiser man myself. That might be the issue.
