Wow, DIED. That is awful.

If you do put up cameras, make sure you hide them well. You may recall that my best camera was stolen last fall.

I know I've had poachers a number of times on my pond. I've only seen trespassers one time -- and it probably wasn't the troublemakers. These were older guys on ATVs. It was nearly dark, I shouted at them, and then and I let off one shot with my 12 gauge. Even I was surprised how much fire comes of the end of a shotgun at dusk. They left rather quickly.

Ken

P.S. I made it back from your side of the earth on Thursday. We had sleet on Monday afternoon shortly after I arrived. I had to scrape frost from my windshield Tuesday and Wednesday mornings last week -- and that was in Roseville. It almost made me feel at home. It was 60 when I got back here.

Sorry DIED. What ever happens don't let them get you in a compromised situation. Have the upper hand on them. Your safety is first. I think they would make good GSF food at the bottom of your pond.

DIED, Low down, no good sorry sons of a you know what. I have been in LE for 36 years, and vandalism is one thing that really gets my hackles up. I have a few ideas for the perps that can't be be posted on the PBF!

Good morning Dave, I've checked the ships systems, and everything appears to be running normally.

Was lucky enough to meet the (in)famous Pond Boss DIED. Just a great guy in person. We hauled up the wreckage and did a damage assessment. That big ol chunk of concrete did the most damage. Direct hit amidship, crushed the center bench and ripped out both side of the benches hull rivets. I brought the vessel home, it's in drydock now. Pledged to fix her, at least make it seaworthy again. I have the technology. Those lousy vandals will not sink our spirits.

Many thanks to you Pond Frog. DIED and I have had some fun times on that boat. Hopefully Pond Frog I'll get a chance to meet you later this year. Perhaps we can time a Pond Frog/Catmandoo/DIED/JHAP micro conference later this year. (Plus any other California pond meisters that we can scare up).

Shhhhh, don't scare the poor guy.

Besides I only wear that for mutant polliwog noodling and for "special occasions"....... like voting on election day.

No.

In the south they have their methods. Here out west I have my own method.

Hey you started it.

Besides I won't tell Theo either.

I do have an instruction DVD for sale though. For a mere $19.95, plus shipping and handling, you too can learn the patented JHAP method of Noodling. Be the envy of your friends, garner respect from your neighbors, as you wrestle the largest of polliwogs from their resting place in a comfortable yet form fitting swim attire that is sure to set new fashion standards across the USA. Merely log on to http://www.neoprenecodpiecenoodling.com and order the instructional DVD.

Neoprene cod piece sold separately.

Batteries not included.

i'll turn that right around pond frog and say i was lucky to meet you. thanks for taking the time to come up the hill and meet me.

as pond frog said, we pulled the sad wreckage up from below the spillway and inspected her.

along with dents, bumps, bruises, and scratches, the large piece of concrete caused the worst of it. along with the seat and hull rivet damage, the port gunnel was crushed and ripped away from the topsides, this will be a tricky fix beyond any skill i possess, the goal on that is to restore the oarlock. she may not be as pretty as she once was, and hopefully she'll carry us on our pond voyages once again.

this was definitely another fine example set for the pondboss community. thanks again pond frog, and to the rest of yall.

ps, we spoke about getting together when you come up jhap, i wish you could have heard and seen the pond frog gasp and stare in wonder as i exalted the trophy GSF and bullheads in our ponds \:\)

Hey, I might be up for a micro conference. I think I'll skip the neoprene fashion show, and might tie a rope to my soap for the after conference showers if Theo is there. Might be difficult being heavily outnumbered on the GSF lovefest. I think I'll just go over to the opposite corner of the pond when they start passing around a 1 pound gsf to kiss. Would be a hoot otherwise. I'm happy with a fishing pole and a pond and even happier with good company.

I just read this thread, and PF's generosity is exactly what makes this forum truly unique. Thanks for helping a PB brother in need, PF - excelsior!

Oh, and JHAP, that link is dead! Thanks for getting my hopes up - I had my heart set on a rhinestone studded neoprene codpiece!

Without a doubt. I spoke with DIED this morning he said the Pond Frog is a great guy. He helped DIED get the concrete chunks out of the boat and then haul it up the ravine (no small feat, I've seen that ravine). Pond Frog thinks he can get the boat fixed and make it pond worthy. That would be awesome.

I hope I'm not overstepping the bounds of friendship when I say the Dave offered Pond Frog money to fix the boat and Pond Frog refused. DIED is gonna force at least some gas money on him so he won't be out of pocket for the traveling.

That my friends is the what this site is all about. Pond meisters helping pond meisters.

Pond Frog you have earned huge Karma points in my book.

I look forward to meeting you.

Jeff, get rid of the wet suit. No way you will ever again attain neutral buoyancy. Don't ask how I know.

No cars, but can do aluminum and sheet metal fab. That upper gunnel was torqued and trashed. Had to cut it into three pieces just to get it back on, but I have a part to cover that mess. Going to be like the Japanese and the Yorktown in WWII. They refused to believe it was back fighting again afetr being almost sunk. Those vandals will wonder, hey we thought it was trashed. Maybe the temptation of that brings them back out to get apprehended. If not, they just were not tough enough.

Good job PF! Do you have a tool to buck (re-set) the rivets? If not, I can tell you where to get one - it's easy to do.
