As Buzz said that applies to gizzard shad. We usually stock a load of 4K of 1.5 to 2.5 inch adults in the spring. This has worked almost 100% of the time to establish shad in bass heavy ponds 1 to 50 acres. On the other hand I used to stock 12K about the size of your thumbnail and only established a pop. about 1/2 the time.
