Pond Boss Forums MANAGING AN EXISTING POND Evaluating and adjusting fish populations shocking pond

i've hired a company out of mississippi to come shock my 4 1/2 acre pond that is 3 years old.i was wondering if anybody could help with questions i should be asking tomorrow when this takes place?we are holping to see some nice bass maybe in the 3 pound range and plenty of bluegill.also do you think the water is to cold this time of year to do this?pond is located in baton rouge,louisiana.thanks

Dang I was hoping to put together a road trip out there for you. Lee you are pretty far south so it might be alright by now. What is your water temp? If getting close to 60 your fine. If it is below 50 you might not get alot of fish. If they are good consultants it does not take alot of fish to figure out what is going on. i still plan to have you make the road trip to shock pond this coming spring.the company that did the work yesterday only charged 350.00 so i decided to try getting it done a little early.trying to get early start.guess what? you get what you pay for.and that was what i got yesterday.this was the biggest joke i've ever seen.these guys shocked up so few fish you would not believe me if i told you.they rode around for 10 minutes and worked on there boat for 1 hour and said good bye.then wanted all my records so they could tell me what to do.i thought they would shock the fish up and still me what to do,not read my records then advise me on what to do.
