Thanks Bill. I was really asking to help me with my pond due to the fluctuating water levels. I was thinking of floating 1' to 18" square pieces of closed cell foam in shallower water for FHM spawning, tethered to the bottom. I want to avoid having cover sticking out from the water by a couple of feet when the water drops in the Fall.
bowjo, I've run electric under a wide driveway by using 2" PVC pipe, sticking a hose inside of it with a "sweeper" nozzle attached to the end of the hose. The water washes out the dirt thru the PVC, and I pounded the PVC further along under the driveway as the dirt washed out from in front of it. The only problem that I had was a couple of tree roots. If there were large rocks in the way I doubt that it would have worked.
