assuming the bass does not lose the tag yes I think that is correct. You can do this cheaply if you did not want to track individual growth (although I woudl suggest doign that as well) by using the colored tags. I actually want to take a client with many ponds and do a smaller one just like you mentioned, stock with female bass with tags and if something happens easy policy-remove any without tags.
