Hey guys. I've got an aquaintance on another discussion board I participate on that is considering using coppernose bluegill for a larger scale aquaponics system in Florida. They would probably purchase fingerlings at least a couple times a year, probably more often once established. I promised I would provide some contact info for some quality suppliers that ship or haul in Florida.
Suggestions? I'd like to keep the business in the PB family if at all possible.
12 ac pond in NW Missouri. 28' max depth at full pool. Fish Present: LMB, BG, RES, YP, CC, WB, HSB, WE, BCP, WCP, GSH.

What part of Fla ? I would start with Greg Grimes and ask for non Ark stock if they are going back into Fla.

I know a good supplier of CNBG 10 miles north of the Fla panhandle in the center of AL.

Sorry, I should have mentioned location is somewhere around St. Petes/Clearwater/Tampa.
They are still in the planning phases, but they want to secure a supplier as part of that planning process.
Greg, I'll be sure to pass your info along. Hope that's not too far out of the way for you though.

Thanks if they got local guy I will not be able to beat price if they want less than 5,000 doubt it will be worth it. However, on larger orders we soemtimes beat the heck out of local sources that charge a fourtune on fish.
George what are your big concerns. I also work with a hatchery in Florida so I can get those fish if needed but curious your reasoning.

Greg, I believe that Eric addressed the problem when he advised against Arkansas CNBG.
The only CNBG that I would purchase would be from growers that guarantee pure Florida brood stock.
I sure wouldn't risk introducing intergrade CNBG back into Florida CNBG habitat.
I would trust your source.

Simple - they need CNBG. Buy them where you can. May not be able to get them locally. After all I have purchased BG and or CNBG from TX ( 1 or 2 locations), AR (2 locations) , MS ( 3 locations) , ALA (3 locations). Its finding what you need when you need it at a price you are willing to pay and from someone you trust to deliver what you ordered.

Sure you didn't punk! I'm angry! Downright mad!  Not insulted at all. I actually had never heard that saying before, so I looked it up, and that was the formal definition given. It sounded like such a fancy definition for the saying, I thought it deserved posting. I should have included a smiley or two to indicate the joking nature of my response. hehe...

Thanks for digging the info and the link up Burgermeister. Does Florida Fish Farms have any ties to PB? Anyone have experience dealing with them?
Like I said, if possible and worth the time and effort, I'd really like to see one of our own get the business. It sounds like it could potentially be a nice little piece of residual revenue.
