The main unit has 6 traction motors hooked up to a gear box to drive the blade. The second car has a regular locomotive engine in it that powers traction motors that power the rotary blade. It's a older motor so I guessing 3,000 HP on the power unit. The newer motors pushing it have 4500 hp each. Those are used to push the rotary into the snow and pull it out.
