Cecil strange trout die there in May. They make it in most every lake in middle-north GA into June and into July in many. They go down and hang at thermocline and hard to catch for last month of ther lives. I had some make it yr round in my ponds and know temps were at least 78. Might have something to do with the NC trout being used to waremer temps but they do not die at 70 as you read about. If temp slowly rises they will keep feeding up to 72 degrees. I just thought they would make it even longer up north go figure. But is still valid you have several months of trout with some of those months of them being under ice. Very agressive so easy to harvest and incredible growth rates. Personal choice on whether great to eat or not.
