I went out this afternoon and gave it a shot for about an hour, I caught all of a whopping 6 big golden shiners al about 6-7" long on waxies. Ice was a consistant 5" at the 4 holes I drilled but I just couldnt find the gills, crappies or perch today. What was weird was all the GS were taken about 4-8" of fthe bottom where i usually get my other panfish, the GS I usually get in the top half of the water column anyone else have this type of problem??

If D.O is sufficient all your fish species will be in the deepest warmest water close to the bottom except for some individual yellow perch and fatheads. Not sure why some fatheads are shallow in my pond but it may be due to the deeper water being a bad place to be if you know what I mean. Or like Bill said they get chased shallow.
Were you fishing weeds? That's where your bluegills will be. Find some weeds on the bottom in fairly deep water and you should find the bluegills. As far as the perch they can be just about anywhere -- even up shallow. Like Bill says deepest water near the bottom is best but I've found them fairly shallow too.
