I've got about 4 inches on my ponds. I'm going to wait another month or so as I want to see if I goofed and planted some male perch in the female only perch pond. The closer it is to spawning time the better I can sex them. If I catch any they will go into the one of the cages.
BTW I can easily sex yellow perch at spawning time but had to move some back to the pond a different time of year due to a SNAFU some five star moles caused me.
