Bottom line is that I also don't like any minnows but fatheads. I'm a big, maybe huge, believer in the common bluegill. They are food factories. Lots of other things like tilapia and threadfins have their places and can provide benefits. However, IMO, nothing can be counted on like a bluegill. They will provide forage for both you and the predators.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
Without a sense of urgency, Nothing ever gets done.
