AP, I don't heat mine when I leave. Once it got so cold in it that beer cans froze and busted n the refrigerator. I figured an insulated fridge would be pretty well bullet proof.

I actually blow out my water lines when I leave. I attach a fitting to the kitchen faucet, add a tire valve from the motor home place and push the water out into the sink of the bathroom with a compressor.

Yeah, if you don't heat, then you have to drain the lines. I'd pour a cup of RV anti-freeze down each drain as well (sink, tub & shower), drain the toilet tank & bowl, and put a cup of anti-freeze in the bowl as well.

If it's going to be below freezing for a while, and you'll be gone for a while, you might have to drain the bladder tank & water softener as well.

Scott, I do all of those things. I use windshield washer antifreeze. It gets me down to zero.

I've done it long enough now to get the whole process down to about 10 minutes.

You're a speed demon compared to a buddy and myself. When we close up their cabin for the winter (in Northern Wi.) it takes us a good 45 minutes. Most of that time is waiting for the water heater to drain.

No Scott, I'm in West Texas. The dividing line is Dallas/Fort Worth.

When God made the world, He created the Western half of Texas and saw that it was good. With all of the crap He had left over, He put on the Eastern side. Then He created the Trinity River as a kind of demarcation line for His chosen people. Then He made it rain more in the Eastern areas to assure that it flushed properly. West Texas doesn't need to be watered as often as East Texas.
