oh,ok. sorry, i thought it was almost full.

What is the pvc pipe coming out of the bank for in that one picture of the pond?

Im still watching my pond like a hawk. It driving me crazy since I know it leaked before lol. Its about 40-65 degrees outside without any rain almost all summer. It dropped about 2 1/2' all summer. In the last 2-3 weeks it seemed to drop about 2-3". Will water still evaporate in colder weather? Please relay.

My pond has dropped a couple of inches in the past 2 weeks, as did my stock tanks by the house that are sunk into the ground and used as ponds. I know they don't leak!

So in the winter my pond will still go down if theres no rain or snow?

If there is no water going into your pond during the winter from rain, snow or from the well, and it doesn't freeze over, then yes, it will keep evaporating. Our Lake effect snow storms come from water that's evaporated from Lake Michigan.

But, when have you had a winter without snow or rain? Mine is a ground water pond, and it's level has dropped even after it has iced over. It has always filled back up in the Spring due to rain or snowmelt.

Still waiting on my pond to fill up. Whats the longest someone had to wait to fill up? As of right now its about a foot above from last year at this time. So thats a good thing.

Zoe, after reading all this thread, here is my suggestion. Stop worryng about a pond that USED to leak. A high % of people with ponds would love to have a pond that lost 2 or 3 inches in 2 wks. Go get you some fatheads and bluegill and make yourself a fishing pond. Stock largemouth in the late summer when the BG get to 4-5 inches. That is, unless you have other species in mind.
