Different feeders for different situations. I agree that you get what you pay for, but the bears would make scrap metal out of the good directional feeders mounted on the dock so I would be out 2 or 3 hundred dollars.
The feeder I have mounted on a tripod meets my needs it has a digital timer and cost 40 bucks, bucket included.
