Thanks Brettski! It's a design I came up with myself. We did have a bit of an engineering snafu because we did not want posts in the middle of the greatroom. We had to use engineered beams to carry the 20 foot span.
The really COOL thing about this is that we are using a barn builder and the cost for the dried in building is only $15 a square foot plus the cost of windows and doors. We got his framing crew to do all the interior framing for $10 a linear foot.
We went with Low E, Argon windows which added a good chunk but will be worth it in the long run. We also chose to finish the concrete floors instead of buying floor covering.
We are subbing everything else out ourselves. Well, everything we can't do. I will be doing all of the trim and Mark will do most of the electrical with his brother.
All in all, we should have a 2800 sq foot heated and cooled house, with storage, two 10x20 decks and a 22x26 carport completed for just under $120K.
