That right there is some very funny observations. Keep in mind the light bulb is the least efficient invention ever made and that we all use compact fluorescents wherever we can right?.
It may take a while for cartoonists to get the idea...

In all seriousness I worked in a lighting company for a few years and couldn't believe how much there is to know about something we all think of as simple. The new technology in both compact fluorescents and the "T8" or "T5" tubular lamps use far less electricity. Remember that these CFLs are fluorescents and as such have all different color spectrums, 2500K, 3500K 5000K etc. so I hate to hear that people dont use them because they dont want the "white" light they give off. There's all different varieties. Best use is for fixtures that are on for extended periods of time, and you need a special CFL for a dimmer switch. More money but they last far longer and you save on electricity. Sorry for the rant but if everyone changed out just one bulb in their house...
