Most of you know we did a fish kill on 7/30/09 to start over and get rid of the gizzard shad that had taken over our man made subdivsion lake. We also had professional water quality analysis performed by the BOS this year. Even though we banned Phos. in the sub this year in fertilizer our Total Phos. and Phosphates remain high, but look at what happened to the Nitrates:
March 18, 2009 1,452.0 ppb Target Range is 0- 1,000 ppb
July 06, 2009 1,188.0 ppb
FISH KILL JULY 30
Sept. 01, 2009 264.0 ppb
That is amazing to me, thought you might be interested.

You had a lot of fish adding to the total. With them gone the N can work its way out of the system. If people were fertilizing their yards during summer and have now stopped that to would help.

Yes, a lot a fish. We estimate 2,500 lbs of fish were killed and removed. Now the next step is Fish Kill II for the large carp and all the babies that spawned.
