cmf- I like it for fertile waters, although for clear waters it will need a cord attached. A good way to mark distance on a rope or cord is to sew or tie colored yarn on rope at the appropriate depths. For deeper depths I use 1 foot increments, then estimate inches between 1 ft marks. Visibilities in my region often range from 4ft to 12ft.
