I enjoyed meeting a lot of you at the seminar. 'Outstanding folks with outstanding information'. I really learned a lot. After I got home I started playing around with some stuff and came up with a homemade secchi. It cost me about $4 to put together. I wanted a pole so I don't have to do much bending over and I color coded the pole for ease of visibility, instead of looking at tiny numbers. Each wood-colored and white band is 3 inches. There is a red band at 12 inches, green bands at 18 and 24 inches, and another red band at 36 inches.

This should make it easy to get the readings.
