What do you think would be a desirable minimum length to get these fish to before cold weather sets in? Boy I don't know Bruce. I'd be skeptical that only 8 gpms would moderate water temps much in winter. But I could be wrong.
If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

These ponds hold about 100,000 gallons of water so 8 gpm would replace all water about every 9 days. Last year when I tried this the water near the discharge was about 40 F. Not a big improvement...but enough to maybe take the edge off for a shellcracker. The other side of the pond had ice, so we know how cold that is. You could be right. My knowledge of shellcrackers about equals my knowledge on alligators.

Well that's warmer than I thought it would be. That is some moderation.
