Bass live in all kind of waters. All different shapes and sizes ponds, lakes, rivers, streams, etc. What we recommend is that a pond be at least 1/2 acre to support proper growth and survival. Even still a lot depends on your goals, and smaller a pond is more management is required to keep populations in balance.

That being said I have seen and helped manage ponds around 1/4 acre in size that have LMB in them. Bass do well as long as one is willing to supplementally stock forage species on a regular basis.
