Hey Coach,
From what I have been reading the first step I believe would be to drain some of your pond so you could work around it. I may be wrong though. As I am a rookie myself when it comes to this. The draining of the pond though would keep the fish more in the middle and away from any harm unless you want the whole pond dug bigger and deeper as well then that's a whole nother story. I am very intersted in what the pros have to say out here though becuase I have entertained that thought as well in the next couple of years.
The only difference between a rut and a Grave is the depth. So get up get out of that rut and get moving!! Time to work!!
