MNfish -- "light" on stocking may mean some nice fish much sooner. Remember that my overstocking rates didn't work too darn well.
Last time I saw walleyes surface feeding was on a Kansas reservoir when the big Hexagenia mayflies were hatching. The walleyes came up for those (as did white crappies, white bass, and channel catfish). The mayflies were thick!!
