Thank you all for the prayers and kind thoughts. I read them to Ricki and she is quite touched. What an amazing forum this is. I would not have shared this info on any other forum but here we are like family.

To address some of the suggestions and comments:

We do get a security deposit. Unfortunately the industry norm for vacation rentals is a $500 security deposit. It doesn't take much to eat up $500. We'll have close to double that in expenses when all is said and done. Fortunately most tenants are good people and in 3 years of renting this property as a vacation rental we've only had damage twice.

Boxers??? No way, commando bayyybeeee!

Laundry room? True story here. When Ricki and I first got together I decided to do her a favor and run a load of laundry. Being cost concious I wanted to ensure that the washer was full before running it. So I pretty much put anything and everything into one load. We'll you guessed it, one of my red T shirts went in with her laundry and the result was every thing had a pink hue to it when done. And there was another time when I decided to wash my car cover. It bunched up on once side of the washer during the spin cycle and the washer started moon walking across the laundry room. Now the laundry room is off limits for me. I do have kitchen privledges as long as I don't turn any knobs or push any buttons. Oh and by the way 15 minutes is way too long to cook a hot dog in a microwave, although the results are nothing short of spectular, cleaning up the mess is not fun.

DVD player? Does anyone really know how to control their TV system? We have the following remotes: One for the TV, a second for the cable box, a third for the sound system, a fourth for the DVD player, a fifth for the hard disk drive recorder. So Ricki bought and programmed a "universal" remote. It allows me to universally mess everything up. On the plus side though it is quite interesting to watch the news while listening to a spanish soap opera.
