I was at a work associates pond and she said she had bluegill only but they had the spot on there back like this fish green sunfish Are there any other sunfish/ bluegill that have these spots or at least a darker area back there? I want to try and catch one for a picture but I havent had the time

Ewst and Died, I think you are right. I was pretty sure it was a red brest. They could very well be stunted also, they were caught in a very small creek. And they were very hungry. My son caught 20 in short time. Thanks, againg to the pros. John

RBS are small. Trials BG often have a black spot on the rear of the dorsal fin.

Redbreast sunfish.
They do really well in small creeks.
I live in North Carolina and you can catch redbreasts statewide.
They can also live in ponds and lakes.
Great sportfish imho.
