Numbers matter on important issues... For a Senator or Congressman, 5 people mean nothing, 50 people don't mean much either. 500 people and they start to act, 5000 people and they take action(SOMETIMES) If you take the attitude they won't listen and say nothing, you have accomplished nothing. Speak up, call and write your representatives! You have nothing to lose but your freedoms...
As much as this site is supposed to remain non-political I completely agree with that. There are plenty of forums to talk politics and many more that aren't set up for politics but they get thrown around rather often, much to the detriment to the forum. However, in issues like this where politics plays an important role in actual Pond related issues, I see no reason why CIVIL conversation cannot be had. So far, I think things have stayed quite civil. A true testament to the people who post on here!

Thank you for posting the videos. I had no idea this was going on.
I will be contacting my senator/congressman
Everything else that I would have to say on this topic would be political so I will say no more other than I wish fellow business and land owners good luck in this brave new world we are entering into.

Not surprised at all. Government has been slowly creeping in like crab grass. Lately, it's not creeping, but moving swiftly to usurp our property rights.
I'm all in for a national fishing and waterway association. We need a voice now, or in 2-3 years, it will be too late.

Oops! Illinois and Indiana do look sorta similar on the map. Big difference for those of us that know. Anybody ever try and contact a senator outside your state on their website? At least for me the first thing they ask you on line is your location. When it's obvious you are not one of their constituents your email message will not work. Considering we all pay federal taxes that really irks me. If it was up to me I'd fire most of them and start over.

Not that this is the place for it,but I do believe we could have a political discusssion and be civil about it.I also firmly believe the members of PondBoss could do a better job of running this country. On the other hand,a bunch of 4 year olds probably could too.

I would definitely vote for a four-year-old over the esteemed Senators who are supporting this mess. I hope they get several earfuls from their constituents. I doubt any congressman from TN ever voting for something like this, but if he did he'd probably be the first modern instance of someone being tarred and feathered. I'd wager my fellow Tennesseans would drive to Washington to do it.

Hee Hee. Yep, you'll see the Pols in action now! And you can be sure that there'll be a provision for confiscation of property. I wonder why they didn't go for anything that rain falls upon or anything surrounded by air.

If we mailed em tar and feathers and labeled it "evening wear",do you think they'd take a hint?On the other hand,maybe a side trip during the convention to D.C.,and make sure they put it on correctly.Did I really suggest that?Out loud?... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . YEP

I have some lobbying experience at the State and Federal level. The only thing, other than a bag full small bills, that worked was a telephone bank and a personal meeting. EMail is useless.
It's a simple concept. Organize a group of people. Get them to further organize a group of their contacts. Start calling and lock their phones. Be polite and knowledgeable about the issues(s). End every call with the statement "I am a registered voter and I will be keeping an eye on his/her actions, not just his/her vote on this bill.". This becomes more effective when it is combined with dropping in to their local offices and actually expressing your views to a real person. Don't be argumentative but don't accept any BS.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

That's why we call you the "Guvnor."
