Dave,
Please keep in mind that your Dad is definitely in a better place. I didn't have the honor of knowing him, but reading all these tributes makes me certain I missed out on knowing a very special man. I lost my Dad last January. At the risk of hijacking this thread (certainly not my intention), I feel compelled to tell everyone what happened a couple of days before my Dad died. He was in a hospice home, and had not spoken in more than a whisper for days. All of a sudden he started saying "I see it, I see it. It's more beautiful than I could ever have imagined". As he was saying this, his voice was getting louder and louder, so loud in fact that nurses came into the room. And then, with tears of joy rolling down his cheeks, he said the Lord's Prayer. When he finished the Lord's Prayer, believe it or not, he started hollering "hip hip hooray, hip hip hooray" at the top of his lungs. How cool is that? Is was a gift to us...talk about giving us peace! Again, please take comfort in knowing where your Dad is, and that you will see him again.
