When I was a kid on Long Island, NY we used to catch sea robins all the time. We often kept the fish we caught to give to our Jamaican neighbors who would take 500 pounds of what ever if we gave it to them. Mostly bluefish, with some weakfish and fluke mixed in. My dad never kept the sea robins. One day he caught a huge one and decided to keep it because it was just so big. The Jamaican neighbors literally flipped out with excitement. From that point on, all sea robins were kept. Apparently they are high on the list of preferred fish with Jamaicans...
