Yep Walt is right we do it as small as 1/3 full if it has soem 6 feet water to avoid bird predation. It depends on what you got and fuutre water coming in. I suggest rate of 2,000 fhm/acre then 250 4-5 inch bg/acre. This will ensure lots of good spawning next yr, also if setup a feeder it will increase growth even more and of course you could fertilize to aid in bg food. Easy to convert as you know to trophy BG by adding predatros later on. Good luck and let us know if you want some fish.
