So the Rotenone-Engagement Photo Shoot was/is really a WIN-WIN for both parties.
davatsa got his own supermodel wife from Texas.
She didn't help out with the rotenone, we did the engagement photos a different day. I know about davatsa's supermodel wife. Thats what inspired me to go looking for a wife in Texas (actually met her doing stream fish assessments in MO). Turns out transplanting a Texas girl into an Iowa winter isn't the best idea..... csteffen, I thought everybody knew to not transport women across state lines.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Dang, that thing looks like an overgrown sculpin! Those and warmouths have something in common... Yep, they both get very little respect from fishermen.  James, the king salmon and two silvers are on it's way back to Nebraksa.

Shorty I am so jealous. My uncle just called from Soldotna and said they were having the biggest red salmon run they have had in ten years and had double the daily limit. I have never caught a King but can only imagine it must be like hooking up to a car going ninety miles an hour.

That's incredible, Shorty!
You were in the Puget Sound area, and the sun was shining! Now, now Theo, the "hundred days of darkness" (more like 6 months) is primarily a wintertime thing in the Puget Sound area.  I also caught a whole bunch of these "bullheads" out of the Sound in addition to that sea run cutthroat.  Oh no they have Sea Robins in the Pacific too! We have been catching a red version of that fish while drifting for Flounder on the Mid-Atlantic coast for years. Anymore we really should just call it trash collecting as we catch more of those then keeper fluke. A skate, a dogfish and a sea robin or as my uncle Frank likes to call it the "Garbage Grand Slam"...

When I was a kid on Long Island, NY we used to catch sea robins all the time. We often kept the fish we caught to give to our Jamaican neighbors who would take 500 pounds of what ever if we gave it to them. Mostly bluefish, with some weakfish and fluke mixed in. My dad never kept the sea robins. One day he caught a huge one and decided to keep it because it was just so big. The Jamaican neighbors literally flipped out with excitement. From that point on, all sea robins were kept. Apparently they are high on the list of preferred fish with Jamaicans...

Me too, I grew up in New Joisey, and we fished near seaside, Fluke was what we wanted, but we sure got our share of those god awful looking sea robins.
I still think fluke is the best tasting fish there is.

Well I took my nephew and son out to try and catch a few cats (channel catfish that is) for dinner. In about 3 mins of chunking out a piece of hot dog (I was out of stubby steves) I had our first and only hookup. I set the hook and thought dang this is a big one. Wyatt about got pulled in. He held tight and cranked on the handle. My nephew and I mouths dropped when a well over 3 lb bass jumped in the air. I think you can tell from the picture he was happy. hH was skinny and apparently proves the theory if bass are hungry they will eat anythihg. http://lakework.com/photo_gallery/gallery2/v/Client+Fish/hot+dog+bass.html

Ha! Glad I checked in on this thread to see Greg's latest masterpiece photo. Here is grandson Taylor last weekend. 18 inches, very plump, 4 pounds.

Here is grandson Taylor last weekend. 18 inches, very plump, 4 pounds. Normally I would not question an expert of your calibre Dave, but I believe that you should recalibrate your scale and double check your measuring tape. Taylor looks significantly bigger than that to me.
