We made some progress yesterday although it more closely resembled carnage. Since we are waiting on the pond level to drop Ronnie started clearing unwanted pine trees from around the house site. By the time I got there at 4 yesterday he had felled over 30 pines! It looked like a hurricane had come through.
It was pretty amazing to watch him just drive up to a 70 foot tree and topple it with the excavator. When he jumped down from the cab to say hello he had the biggest ****-eating grin on his face that I have ever seen. You could tell that he was having the time of his life. Somehow it feels like he should be paying me! It looks like too much fun.
I know when we had the Bobcat out there with the brushcutter I was instantly addicted. I can't even imagine how much fun it would be to drive the excavator, which Ronnie did tell me he would let me try out. I'm really looking forward to getting to play with that big toy!
