I had no idea that there was such a place like this on the internet and I finally came across yall one day!
The amount of water in the creek is typically 2" H x 3' W and is one that we have never seen dry up in the dryest of years. It has good flow that has been continous in dry years and we feel as if it will be adequate for our pond.
There aren't any ponds other ponds on this creek as we are at the mouth of it.
I'm still trying to figure out posting pictures on here, but I uploaded 2 pictures to Google so everyone could hopefully understand what exactly I'm talking about.
Pond Pictures The picture that I drew in Paint (which is terrible) shows exactly the condition as you enter the woods from the field in the other picture. There is a steep dropoff of appox. 10ft which is where the creek begins. What we wanted to do was dam up downstream to where the water level would come up to the edge of the field at the tree line. We are just concerned that we could possibly stop up the creek / not get good aeration in the pond.
The reason why we want to raise it to this level is so that we can take full advantage of the lay of land as much as possible!
oh...nice videos guys!...those were pretty good!
