Our pond has a couple of areas that have silted in over 30-40 years' time, and while the overall depth is still fine in most places we'd like to clean those shallow areas out a bit. I was contemplating just scraping out one or two feet using a track hoe from shore (without any draining of the pond). Should we be too concerned about damaging the bottom, or just give it a try and see how it goes? (Here in central oklahoma, it seems nearly every footprint will hold water.)
