so, i had a disaster, was trying to catch cat but caught dog. fishhook disapeared down throat, probly 1-3 inches out of site, 16 pound dog. bit off line, gone in struggle between girlfriend and dog, hook probly set good any ideas?

Yeah...vet visit...x-rays. May pass, but doubtful. If it's in the gut, it may dissolve, but if you REALLY like the dog, spend the cash and get it checked out.
In a lifetime, the average driver will honk 15,250 times. My wife figures I'm due to die any day now...

Had the same happen to my wife and our dog last year. The dog will eat anything and apparently has strong digestive system. Vet had us feed the dog bread, and watch him closely as he was showing no signs of distress once I caught him. He either passed it or dissolved it. Hope everything works out ok.

We had a bird dog bite off a light bulb that was used to generate heat in his dog house. At least we assume he did as the bulb was gone except for that was left in the socket. Anyway there was no trace of glass anywhere and he seemed just fine. Lived several years after that.

Both my Grandma and my wife's Grannie were devotees of the cast iron skillet. But Fish Wife is a proponent of the light/fast bullet theory, and prefers aluminum.
