In my area, bats are migratory, tehy don't overwinter here. I usually have 30-50 roosting in the barn every year. They seem to move from one side of the barn to the other depending on the sun and temps. When it's hot out they stay on the side away from the sun. The barn's ridgeline runs east/west. I've seen bats here as late as November when deer hunting, but they bail out of the barn around late October.
