That's a good link Brettski. It would make sense that purple martins don't hammer the mosquitoes since most mosquitoes come out right at dusk and into the night hours. That's where having a healthy bat population may be helpful. Perhaps
whip-poor-wills could be a good species to try to attract to your property. They are a nocturnal flying insect eating bird with a really cool sounding call. We have them on our hunting land in PA and I hear their calls in a number of other areas. Apparently their numbers are in great decline during the past few years...
