David,

I am so sorry to hear that your Dad is gone.

He was one of my first Texans, and one I will always think of him when I contemplate the very best of the Lone Star state - big smile, big heart, big friendly handshake. He had that "You buy the chips, I'll buy the Superbowl tickets" attitude that my late FIL had. I admire and aspire to that ability to treat anyone on an equal level.

His pride in you was as obvious as it was warranted. He was lucky to have a great Son to share his interests and time with (as, Thank God, am I).

Remember you can still talk to him when you need to, and he can still hear you. I have no doubt you know him well enough to know what his answers to your questions would be.

So long, big Al.
