Most of the Tilapia I see are white and they're located all around the pond as well. I just happened to see this larger dark grey fish up very shallow one evening. The fry were very small and most, if not all, were white.
The next day, I went back to the area and saw the same fish again with all the fry. When I took the video camera that afternoon, I didn't see them. I'm going to try to locate the fry again, but they may have moved deeper??
This is my first attempt to stock Tilapia, so I'm really not sure what the normal behavior is or how many fish should be spawning. If you keep looking, I suspect you'll see some fry sooner or later.
