In a quick word, have a farm 35 miles or so East of Waco and what I want to do is get a pond dug/constructed and use the dirt for mounding a 2,000 foot airstrip. Mike Otto's office says he does not travel that far for construction/dirt work. If you know of anyone please chime in.....Thanks

I used the crumpton brothers out of Hillsboro to build a 4.5 acre pond in 2007. Ask for Larry or Ralph and tell them Rocky from Covington sent you.
254-582-8343 or 9111 or 2208

They have all the equipment needed to do what you are wanting.
Their price for 20k yards was 1.25 per yard in 2007.
Good Luck with your project.

How long is the runway that you are planning going to be? I have room for about a 1200 ft runway on the property we have near you. Our neighbor next door is building a 3/4 scale byplane.

With a wing and a half?

The new runway will be 2,000' x 100', but if I can get the county to close a tiny gravel county road cut-off to the back of the Old Fort and that runs through my place, will get 2,300' length out of it. Hoping to break ground in Janurary or Feburary

Better have a wing and a prayer if you're gonna fly with a wing and a half.

jed58, have you ever been to the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome in upstate NY ?
They have a fantastic museum and plenty of WW1 and vintage aircraft
in flying condition. The air show they put on every weekend is great.

Yes have been there, thanks for asking. Was talking with a friend of mine in Ohio the other day and when he said he and the family were taking a vacation to New york I told them to go to Old Rhinebeck.

Well, there goes the neighborhood.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Tom, my job keeps me mostly here at my home in WA but hope to break ground on the place in Texas by the early spring. Hope you will come by whenever it happens.

And this would not be the first neighborhood that took a dive after I rolled into town.

If it dives any worse than when I moved here we'll be living in China.
